My Journey so far….
Yoga to me has been incredible for not only my body but my mind. It has brought me so much joy and every time I step on my mat it is my way of escaping my busy monkey mind. I love that it is a never ending journey and there is no end game, you don’t ‘complete’ yoga, you continue to learn more about your incredible body, what it is capable of and how amazing your mind is.
Although I have practiced yoga for almost 20 years, I didn’t embark on my first formal 200hr training until 2019 which I completed in the beautiful country of Sri Lanka with a wonderful teacher; Stefan Camilleri.
I completed Lara Heimann’s 200hr Teacher Training in 2022.
In 2023 I completed my Advanced 300hr Teacher Training with Jason Crandell to become a 500hr Advanced Yoga Teacher.
In addition I have completed nearly 1000 additional hours of trainings in Anatomy, Mandala yoga, Rocket Yoga, Neuro-Science based movement with incredible teachers like Celest Pereira, Adell Bridges, Dulce and Katarina Rayburn as well as crystal singing bowl sound therapy.
I am also a qualified Pilates Mat Instructor as well as a Reformer Pilates Teacher.
After completing several advanced teacher trainings in neuro-science based movement, anatomy and biomechanics with one of my favourite teachers Celest Pereira I have also been a mentor on her latest 200hr Teacher Training course with Alba Yoga.
I think there can be a feeling around yoga that you have to look a certain way or ‘be’ a certain way and if you don’t fit that mould then you aren’t welcome. I really want to help break down this narrative and show you that yoga really is for everyone. The benefits to body and mind are endless and I want to share my knowledge and love of the practice with as many people as possible!
Because of my hyper-mobility (plus having a mum who is a physiotherapist) I have always had a passion for the importance of building strength and mobility in the body and so this is where my style of teaching comes from. I have a keen interest in biomechanics, the way the body works and the incredible things it can do!
I like to keep my classes fun and try to bring a high energy. I also like to find the balance between accessibility and challenge. Challenges is good, it gives us something to work towards and focus on. It helps us break down what we need to hone in on to journey towards our goals. But I also believe that sometimes the biggest challenge for some people can be to slow down and allow themselves to stop, do less and relax more, I am also here for you guys as that is often me also!
In the last few years I have started running retreats both in the UK and internationally and I love this part of my job! I have currently done several retreats on the beautiful Algarve in Portugal, I have a Spanish retreat planned for Summer 2026 in Cadiz and I have 1 space left for my March 2027 Sri Lanka retreat which I am incredibly excited for as it will be my first time back there since my initial 200hr training there!
Getting to spend extended time with people helping them to fully embrace the beautiful practice of yoga is my favourite!
Come and practice with me, I can’t wait to welcome you!
